Peter Weniger

Peter Weniger (born 1964 in Hamburg) is an

outstanding saxophone soloist in the inter-

national jazz scene. What distinguishes his

musical interpretation are his high emotional-

ity and brilliant virtuosity.

Since he finished his studies at the Cologne

Conservatory of Music, Peter Weniger has been

active as composer and band leader as well as

teacher/"jazz educator" in many workshops at

home and abroad. Numerous prizes, decorations

and tours underline his  widely acknowledged

musical integrity.

Since 1999, Peter Weniger has been professor

     at the Berlin University of Arts teaching at the Jazz Institute Berlin (JIB), a joint venture founded in

     2005 by the University of Arts and the College of Music of "Hans Eisler".

     Peter Weniger has performed with Jasper Van't Hofs "Pili Pili", Billy Cobham, Eddie Mike Stern, Leni

     Stern, Peter Herbolzheimers RC&B, Paul Kuhn Orchestra and Wolfgang Haffner amongst others.
